Shrimp Dirty Rice is a rich, hearty dish rooted in Louisiana cooking, where simple ingredients turn into something deeply flavorful. This version combines seasoned ground beef, pork sausage, tender shrimp, and fluffy rice simmered in savory broth with onions and bell peppers. 1 lb ground beef (hamburger meat)

1 lb ground pork sausage

10–12 shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed, chopped

4 cups cooked rice (long-grain white rice works best)

2 cups chicken broth (Better Than Bouillon recommended)

1 ½ cups mixed onions & bell peppers, finely chopped

3 tbsp vegetable oil, divided

1 tsp seafood seasoning

Salt & black pepper, to taste

1–2 cloves garlic, minced

👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Brown the Meats
Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add ground beef and pork sausage. Cook until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
2️⃣ Add the Holy Trinity
Stir in the chopped onions and bell peppers. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant. Add garlic if using and cook for another 30 seconds.
3️⃣ Season the Base
Sprinkle in seafood seasoning, optional Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat the meat mixture evenly with spices.
4️⃣ Simmer with Broth
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Let cook for 5 minutes so the flavors can meld and deepen.
