The day after I gave birth, someone sent me funeral flowers instead of congratulations — the card changed everything.
After twenty-three hours of labor, I finally held my daughter in my arms.
Every fear.
Every sleepless night.
Every doctor’s appointment suddenly felt worth it.
My husband couldn’t stop smiling.
He kept taking pictures, calling our families, proudly introducing our little girl to every nurse who walked by.
The next morning, visitors started arriving.
Balloons.
Teddy bears.
Pink blankets.
Bouquets with cheerful little cards.
Around noon, another delivery came.
The nurse smiled as she rolled in a large arrangement of white lilies and white roses.
At first, I thought someone had made a MISTAKE.
Then I noticed the black ribbon wrapped around the flowers.
My smile disappeared.
FUNERAL FLOWERS.
The nurse frowned.
“Are you expecting these?”
I slowly shook my head.
There was a small envelope tucked between the flowers.
No sender.
My husband reached for it.
I stopped him.
“I’ll open it.”
Inside was a simple white CARD.
No signature.
Just one sentence.
“Some arrivals should have remained GOODBYES.”
A chill ran through my entire body.
My husband immediately called the front desk.
No one could tell us who had ordered the arrangement.
The florist had received the order online.
It was paid in cash through a courier.
The rest of the day, I couldn’t stop thinking about that message.
Who would send something like that to a woman who had just given birth?
That evening, after everyone had left, I looked more closely at the flowers.
Something was tucked beneath the black ribbon.
A tiny SILVER CHARM.
It looked strangely familiar.
I turned it over.
Engraved on the back was a date.
Not my wedding.
Not my daughter’s birthday.
A date from NINE YEARS earlier.
My hands started SHAKING.
My husband stared at the charm.
“Where did this come from?”
Before I could answer…
My PHONE BUZZED.
An unknown number.
I answered.
For several seconds…
No one spoke.
Then, a woman’s voice quietly whispered:
“Hi there, sweetheart… I bet you NEVER EXPECTED to hear from me.” ⬇️
