Texas Trash Dip
Ingredients:
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16 oz) container sour cream
1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning mix
1 (15 oz) can refried beans
2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies
1/4 cup pickled jalapeños, chopped (optional, for heat)
Tortilla chips, for serving
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix the Base:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning mix. Stir until smooth and fully blended.
Add Beans and Chilies:
Stir in the refried beans, diced green chilies, and half of both the Mexican cheese blend and Monterey Jack cheese. If you want extra heat, add chopped pickled jalapeños at this point.
Assemble the Dip:
Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle the remaining Mexican cheese blend and Monterey Jack cheese over the top of the dip.
Bake:
Bake the dip for 25-30 minutes, or until it’s heated through and the cheese on top is bubbly and slightly golden.
Serve:
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve the dip warm with tortilla chips for dipping.
