Texas Roadhouse’s Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Rolls:
1 cup warm milk (110°F)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
For the Cinnamon Butter:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Sprinkle the yeast over the milk mixture and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture.
Add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients. Mix until the dough begins to come together.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
Shape and Bake the Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Punch down the risen dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness.
Using a round cutter (about 2 inches in diameter), cut out circles of dough. Place the dough circles on a greased baking sheet, making sure they are close but not touching.
Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise for about 30 minutes, or until puffy.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
Prepare the Cinnamon Butter:
In a medium bowl, mix together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth and well combined.
Transfer the cinnamon butter to a serving dish and set aside.
Serve:
Remove the rolls from the oven and brush with a little melted butter, if desired.
Serve the warm rolls with the cinnamon butter on the side.
