Texas Roadhouse Copycat Green Beans

Texas Roadhouse Copycat Green Beans

Ingredients:
4 slices bacon, diced
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cans (14.5 oz each) green beans, drained
1 can (14.5 oz) chicken broth
1 tablespoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:
Cook the Bacon:
In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon pieces and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
Sauté the Onion:
In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the chopped onion. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until the onion becomes soft and translucent.
Add Green Beans and Broth:
Add the drained green beans to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth and stir to combine.
Season the Beans:
Stir in the brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
Simmer:
Let the green beans simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine and the broth to reduce slightly.
Add Bacon:
Once the beans are tender and the broth has reduced a bit, stir in the cooked bacon pieces. Simmer for another 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Serve:
Serve the green beans hot, topped with extra crispy bacon if desired.
