Taco Ring Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1/2 cup water
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup sour cream (optional for serving)
Salsa (optional for serving)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
Drain excess fat if needed.
Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet, stirring to combine.
Simmer for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and most of the liquid has evaporated. Set aside.
Prepare Crescent Dough:
On a large baking sheet, arrange the crescent roll dough into a circle, with the wide ends of the triangles overlapping slightly and the pointed ends facing outward.
There should be a gap in the center of the ring.
Add the Beef:
Spoon the cooked taco meat evenly over the center of the dough ring.
Add Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the taco meat.
Fold Dough:
Fold the pointed ends of the crescent dough over the filling, tucking them under the dough in the center to form a ring. Some of the filling will show through; that’s okay!
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Serve:
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
Garnish with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and any other desired toppings.
Serve with sour cream and salsa on the side.
