Taco Bites
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup salsa
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
1/4 cup sour cream (for garnish)
1/4 cup diced tomatoes (for garnish)
1/4 cup chopped lettuce (for garnish)
1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Ground Beef:
In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the taco seasoning mix according to package instructions, stirring in water as directed. Simmer until the mixture thickens.
Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin.
Form the Crescent Roll Cups:
Unroll the crescent dough and cut it into squares (about 3 inches each).
Gently press each square into the muffin tin to create small cups, leaving a bit of dough hanging over the edges.
Fill the Cups:
Spoon a tablespoon of taco-seasoned ground beef into each crescent cup.
Top the beef with a little salsa and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake the Taco Bites:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Garnish and Serve:
Once out of the oven, let the taco bites cool slightly before removing them from the muffin tin.
Garnish with sour cream, diced tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and cilantro as desired.
