Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup powdered sugar (plus extra for rolling)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup finely chopped pecans (or walnuts)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream the butter and sweetened condensed milk:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk together until smooth and creamy.
Add sugar and vanilla:
Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until well combined.
Incorporate dry ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Add the nuts:
Stir in the chopped pecans (or walnuts) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Shape the cookies:
Roll the dough into small 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
Bake:
Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the tops are still pale. Be careful not to overbake.
Roll in powdered sugar:
Let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then gently roll them in powdered sugar while still warm. Once they have cooled completely, roll them in powdered sugar again for a thicker coating.
Serve:
Enjoy your Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies with a rich, buttery flavor and a sweet, powdered sugar finish!
