Steak with Creamy Cajun Shrimp Topping

Steak with Creamy Cajun Shrimp Topping

Ingredients:
2 ribeye steaks
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional)

Directions:
Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and cook to your preferred doneness (about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare). Remove steaks and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Cook until shrimp turns pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir to combine, scraping any bits off the pan.
Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly. Stir in the butter until melted.
Return the steaks to the skillet, spoon sauce over them, and cook for another 2 minutes to heat through.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with mashed potatoes or rice
