🍀 St. Patrick’s Day Green Velvet Cupcakes 🧁🌈
Festive, fluffy, and topped with tangy cream cheese frosting — these cupcakes are perfect for celebrating with a sweet, lucky bite!
🧁 Ingredients
For the Cupcakes:
1 1/3 cups cake flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Green gel food coloring (as much as needed for desired shade)
2/3 cup buttermilk
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Cupcakes:
Preheat & Prep:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
Dry Ingredients:
In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Cream Butter & Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add oil and beat again until well combined.
Add Eggs & Color:
Mix in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and green gel food coloring.
Combine with Buttermilk:
Add the dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with the buttermilk. Start and end with dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fill & Bake:
Spoon batter into cupcake liners (about 2/3 full). Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
Frosting:
Beat Cream Cheese & Butter:
In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
Add Sugar & Vanilla:
Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time. Beat in vanilla and a pinch of salt.
Frost & Decorate:
Pipe or spread frosting on cooled cupcakes. Decorate with sprinkles, gold dust, or mini shamrocks for extra festive flair!
