Spaghetti Stuffed Garlic Bread
Ingredients:
1 large loaf of French or Italian bread
8 oz spaghetti noodles
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
1/2 lb ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 tbsp butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried parsley)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Cook the Spaghetti:
Boil spaghetti noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Filling:
If using meat, brown the ground beef or Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
Add marinara sauce to the skillet with the cooked meat and stir until well combined. Add the spaghetti to the sauce and mix to coat.
Prepare the Garlic Bread:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, creating a “boat” shape in the bottom half by hollowing out some of the bread.
Assemble the Stuffed Bread:
Fill the hollowed part of the bread with the spaghetti mixture, packing it in tightly.
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the top of the spaghetti.
Add Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the inside of the top half of the bread and around the edges of the bread boat.
Bake:
Place both halves of the bread (the stuffed bottom half and the top half) on a baking sheet.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is golden.
Serve:
Place the top half of the bread over the spaghetti-filled half and slice into portions.
