Snickerdoodle Cobbler

Snickerdoodle Cobbler

Ingredients:
For the Cobbler:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Topping:
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Optional:
1 cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or walnuts) for added crunch

Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or an 8-inch square dish.
2. Prepare the Cobbler Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir this mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined. The batter will be thick.
3. Assemble the Cobbler:
Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
4. Prepare the Topping:
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the batter. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the sugar and cinnamon.
5. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Optional:
If using nuts, sprinkle them over the cobbler during the last 10 minutes of baking for added texture and flavor.
7. Serve:
Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. It’s delicious on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
