Slow Cooker Cowboy Beans
Ingredients:
1. 16 ounces lean ground beef
2. 12 ounces bacon
3. 1 onion, diced
4. 16 ounces can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
5. 16 ounces can white beans, drained and rinsed
6. 32 ounces pork ‘n beans
7. 1 cup ketchup
8. ¼ cup brown sugar
9. 1 to 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the bacon in the skillet for 5 to 7 minutes until cooked through, stirring frequently.
3. Add the diced onions and cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
4. Combine the cooked ground beef and bacon mixture in a large 6-quart slow cooker.
5. Add the pork ‘n beans, drained kidney beans, drained white beans, ketchup, brown sugar, and liquid smoke to the slow cooker.
6. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients. Place the lid on the slow cooker.
7. Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally. If the mixture seems dry, add a few tablespoons of water.
8. Serve the cowboy beans with tortilla chips, corn chips, sour cream, cheese, or any toppings of your choice. Enjoy your flavorful cowboy beans!
