Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4
📝 Ingredients:
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, freshly grated
2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Salt and pepper to taste
👩🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Prep the Steak
In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and cornstarch. Toss the flank steak slices in the mixture and let them marinate for 10–15 minutes to tenderize and flavor the meat.
2️⃣ Sauté the Veggies
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the bell peppers and onion, stir-frying for 2–3 minutes until they start to soften. Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Cook the Steak
In the same pan, add another 1 tablespoon of oil and heat over medium-high. Add the marinated steak slices and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is cooked through and browned. Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for an additional 1 minute, until fragrant.
4️⃣ Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, oyster sauce, sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes. Pour this mixture into the pan with the steak, stir to combine, and let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes to thicken.
5️⃣ Combine Everything
Return the cooked bell peppers and onions to the pan. Toss everything together until the steak and veggies are well coated in the sauce.
6️⃣ Serve
Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. Serve the sizzling steak with a side of steamed rice or noodles.
🍴 Serving Suggestions:
Pair this dish with steamed white rice or noodles for a complete meal. Add some fresh herbs like cilantro or green onions for garnish.
📌 Tip:
For extra heat, you can increase the amount of crushed red pepper or add a splash of chili paste to the sauce.
