Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 pound ground turkey

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1½ cups chicken broth

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon oregano

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper for heat

Directions

1️⃣ Sauté the Base

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and bell pepper and cook for another 1–2 minutes.

2️⃣ Brown the Turkey

Add ground turkey to the pot. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

3️⃣ Build the Chili

Stir in tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and oregano. Cook for 1 minute to bloom the spices.

Add diced tomatoes, beans, and chicken broth. Stir well to combine.

4️⃣ Simmer

Bring chili to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and flavorful.

5️⃣ Taste & Serve

Adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
