📝 Ingredients
-
10 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
-
½ lb raw shrimp, peeled & deveined
-
1 green onion, finely chopped
-
1 egg white
-
1 garlic clove, minced
-
1 tsp soy sauce
-
1 tsp sesame oil
-
¼ tsp grated fresh ginger
-
Pinch of salt & black pepper
-
2 tbsp sesame seeds
-
Vegetable oil, for frying
-
Optional garnish: chopped chives or green onions
🍽️ How to Make It
1️⃣ Make the Shrimp Mixture
Add shrimp, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, egg white, salt, and pepper to a food processor. Pulse until smooth but slightly chunky — rich, flavorful, and perfect for spreading.
2️⃣ Spread & Stack
Spread an even layer of shrimp mixture onto one slice of bread. Top with another slice to form a sandwich and press gently.
3️⃣ Cut & Coat
Cut each sandwich into quarters (squares or triangles). Lightly brush one side with water and press into sesame seeds so they stick.
4️⃣ Fry Until Golden
Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry sesame-side down first for about 2 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
5️⃣ Serve & Dip
Garnish with chives or green onion and serve hot with:
-
Sweet chili sauce
-
Sriracha mayo
-
Soy-vinegar dipping sauce
