Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast Roll-Ups
Ingredients:
1 lb breakfast sausage (links or ground)
4 large eggs
1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of your choice)
1 can crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking spray or extra butter for greasing the pan
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease or spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
Cook the Sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. If you’re using sausage links, cook them whole and then slice them after they’re done. If using ground sausage, cook and crumble it. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
Scramble the Eggs:
In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until the eggs are fully scrambled and fluffy. Remove from heat and set aside.
Assemble the Roll-Ups:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Place a small spoonful of scrambled eggs, a spoonful of cooked sausage, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese at the wider end of each triangle. Carefully roll the dough from the wide end to the narrow tip, enclosing the filling as you roll.
Bake:
Place the roll-ups on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serve:
Remove the roll-ups from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. These can be served with ketchup, hot sauce, or any other preferred condiment for dipping.
