Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents
Ingredients:
1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy)
1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Optional Garnish:
Chopped parsley
Shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
Cook the Sausage:
In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully cooked and browned (about 8-10 minutes).
Drain the excess grease and return the sausage to the skillet.
Mix with Cream Cheese:
Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet with the cooked sausage.
Stir until the cream cheese is melted and fully incorporated with the sausage mixture.
If desired, season with garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles as indicated by the perforations.
Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture in the center of each triangle.
Roll the Crescents:
Starting at the wide end, roll each crescent triangle towards the tip, enclosing the filling.
Place the rolled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
Optional Garnish:
Garnish with shredded cheddar cheese or chopped parsley if desired.
Serve:
Serve the sausage cream cheese crescents warm, either as a snack, appetizer, or breakfast item.
