-
2 lbs fresh spinach (or 2 bags), washed and trimmed
-
2 Tbsp butter
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ tsp salt (or to taste)
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, for extra warmth)
-
Optional garnish: extra Parmesan, breadcrumbs, or chopped parsley
Directions
-
Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet. -
Sauté Garlic & Spinach
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté 30–60 seconds until fragrant. Add spinach in batches, stirring until wilted and most moisture evaporates. -
Prepare Creamy Mixture
Lower heat and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, mozzarella, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Cook 2–3 minutes until cheeses begin to melt and sauce is creamy. -
Transfer to Baking Dish
Pour the creamy spinach mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. -
Bake
Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until the top is bubbly and lightly golden. Optional: sprinkle extra Parmesan or breadcrumbs on top for added texture. -
Serve
Serve hot as a luxurious side dish alongside steak, roasted chicken, or seafood. Garnish with parsley if desired.
