Rotel Sausage & Cream Cheese Crescents
Ingredients:
1 lb ground sausage (breakfast sausage or Italian)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
Mix Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, drained Rotel, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. If using, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
Prepare Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
Fill and Roll: Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each triangle. Roll up each crescent, starting from the wide end and rolling to the point. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm as an appetizer or snack.
