Root Beer Baked Beans Recipe

Root Beer Baked Beans Recipe
Ingredients:
4 slices bacon, diced
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup root beer
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp chili powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Cook the Bacon:
In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until it becomes crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set it aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Cook the Onion and Garlic:
In the same skillet, add the finely chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
Combine Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the cooked bacon, sautéed onion and garlic, drained navy beans, root beer, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Bake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the bean mixture to a large baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the sauce has thickened and the beans are heated through. Stir occasionally to prevent the beans from sticking to the bottom of the dish.
Serve:
Remove from the oven and let the beans cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as a flavorful side dish with your favorite barbecue meats or as a standalone dish.
