Real Tomato Basil Bruschetta Recipe
Ingredients:
4 ripe tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 baguette or crusty Italian bread
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Tomato Topping:
In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, extra-virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Prepare the Bread:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.
If you prefer, you can brush each slice with a little olive oil for extra flavor and crispiness.
Bake the bread slices in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
Assemble the Bruschetta:
Once the bread slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Top each slice with a generous spoonful of the tomato and basil mixture.
If desired, sprinkle a little grated Parmesan cheese on top of each bruschetta for an extra burst of flavor.
Serve:
Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately.
Enjoy the fresh and delicious flavors of this classic appetizer!
