Pizza Grilled Cheese

Pizza Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:
4 slices of white or sourdough bread
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
4 tablespoons pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
4 slices of mozzarella cheese
4 slices of pepperoni (optional)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella (optional)
A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

Directions:
Prepare the Bread:
Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle garlic powder and Parmesan cheese over the buttered side for extra flavor.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Place one slice of mozzarella cheese on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread. Add pepperoni slices (if using), then spoon 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce over the cheese. Top with shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of oregano.
Top the Sandwich:
Cover the pizza filling with the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side facing outward.
Cook the Grilled Cheese:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy on one side, about 3-4 minutes. Flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy.
Serve:
Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute. Cut them in half and serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
