Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Ingredients:
For the Meatloaf:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped
1 small red bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or mozzarella)
For the Topping:
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for a few minutes until the breadcrumbs soak up the milk.
Add the ground beef, egg, chopped onion, bell peppers, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano to the breadcrumb mixture.
Mix until all ingredients are well combined. Do not overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.
Form the Meatloaf:
On the prepared baking sheet or in the loaf pan, form half of the meat mixture into a loaf shape.
Create a shallow well down the center and fill it with the shredded provolone cheese.
Cover with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges to encase the cheese completely.
Prepare the Topping:
In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
Spread the mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Rest and Serve:
Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps keep the meatloaf juicy and easier to slice.
Enjoy this Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf, where classic comfort food meets the iconic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak, all in one delicious dish!
