Peanut Butter Paw Print Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mini chocolate chips (for the “paw prints”)
Chocolate melting wafers or peanut butter cups (for the large “pad”)
Directions:
Prepare the Cookie Dough:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat together the peanut butter, softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and creamy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until well combined.
Combine the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until a soft dough forms.
Shape the Cookies:
Roll the dough into small 1-inch balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Use the back of a spoon or your thumb to gently press down the center of each ball to create a small indentation.
Add Paw Prints:
Place a chocolate melting wafer or peanut butter cup in the center of each cookie to represent the large “paw pad.”
Add 3-4 mini chocolate chips above the large pad to form the smaller paw prints.
Bake the Cookies:
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden and set. The cookies will still be soft but will firm up as they cool.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve and Enjoy:
Once cooled, these adorable peanut butter paw print cookies are ready to serve. Perfect for a themed party or as a fun treat for any occasion!
