Peanut Butter Blossom Bars
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
24-30 Hershey’s Kisses (unwrapped)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
2. Cream the Butter and Sugars:
In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the Egg and Vanilla:
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
4. Mix in Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
5. Press into the Pan:
Press the peanut butter dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
6. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set.
7. Add Hershey’s Kisses:
Remove from the oven and immediately press Hershey’s Kisses into the bars while they are still warm. Space the kisses evenly across the surface of the bars.
8. Cool and Cut:
Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares or rectangles around each kiss.
