Patriotic Poke Cake

Patriotic Poke Cake

Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)
1 package (3 oz) red gelatin (strawberry or cherry flavored)
1 package (3 oz) blue gelatin (blue raspberry flavored)
2 cups boiling water, divided
1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)
Fresh berries (optional for garnish)

Directions:
Prepare the Cake: Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and prepare the cake mix as directed. Bake the cake and let it cool for about 15 minutes.
Make the Gelatin: While the cake cools, dissolve the red gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water in a small bowl. Repeat with the blue gelatin in a separate bowl.
Poke the Cake: Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork, poke holes all over the cooled cake. Pour the red gelatin over half of the cake and the blue gelatin over the other half, making sure it fills the holes. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to set.
Add Whipped Topping: Once the cake is fully set, spread the thawed whipped topping evenly over the entire surface of the cake.
Decorate: Sprinkle red, white, and blue sprinkles over the top of the whipped topping for a festive touch. You can also add fresh berries like strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries as garnish.
Serve: Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy your patriotic poke cake at your next celebration or gathering!
