Pasta Frola with Oil
Ingredients:
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup (60ml) milk
1 cup (250g) quince paste (or jam of choice)
Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch (23 cm) tart pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Add the vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract, and lemon zest (if using). Mix until the dough starts to come together.
4. Gradually add the milk while mixing until you get a soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
5. Divide the dough into two parts, with one part slightly larger than the other.
6. Roll out the larger portion of dough and press it into the bottom and sides of the prepared tart pan.
7. Spread the quince paste or jam evenly over the dough in the pan.
8. Roll out the smaller portion of dough and cut it into strips. Arrange the strips in a lattice pattern over the filling.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
10. Allow the tart to cool before slicing and serving.
