Parmesan Meatloaf

Parmesan Meatloaf

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (or oregano)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Italian herbs, salt, pepper, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
Shape the Meatloaf:
Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan (or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper). Smooth the top with a spatula.
Add Topping:
Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf for extra flavor and moisture.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Rest and Serve:
Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute.
Enjoy:
Serve your Parmesan meatloaf with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or a fresh salad.
