Orange Sponge Cake

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (200 g) sugar
1/2 cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1/2 cup (120 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
3. Add the vegetable oil, orange juice, and orange zest to the egg mixture, and mix until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
