One-Pot Pasta Bolognese Recipe

One-Pot Pasta Bolognese Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup red wine (optional, can replace with more beef broth)
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or other long pasta
2 cups water (more as needed)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Beef:
In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Add Aromatics:
Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings:
Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, red wine (if using), dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
Add Pasta and Water:
Break the spaghetti in half and add it to the pot, stirring to ensure it is evenly distributed. Pour in 2 cups of water, making sure the pasta is submerged in the liquid. If needed, add more water.
Cook the Pasta:
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer. Stir occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened. Add more water if the mixture becomes too dry before the pasta is fully cooked.
Finish the Dish:
Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
Serve:
Serve the pasta Bolognese hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley. Enjoy with extra Parmesan cheese on the side if desired.
