OLD CUBAN – MINTY, ELEGANT & EFFORTLESSLY COOL
Aged rum, mint, and bubbly combine in this sophisticated twist on the mojito. It’s citrusy, aromatic, and topped with a dry sparkling finish that’ll make you raise your glass real slow.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz aged rum
1 oz simple syrup
0.75 oz fresh lime juice
2–3 dashes aromatic bitters
4–6 fresh mint leaves
2 oz dry sparkling wine or prosecco
Brown sugar (for rimming)
Lime wedge (for garnish)
How to Make It:
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a martini glass and dip it in brown sugar. Chill the glass if you’re feeling fancy.
In a shaker, combine aged rum, bitters, lime juice, simple syrup, and mint leaves with ice.
Shake it like it owes you cigars and jazz.
Strain into the sugar-rimmed glass.
Top gently with sparkling wine or prosecco.
Garnish with a mint leaf or lime twist if you’re in the mood for drama.
Pro Tip: Want to turn this into a party drink? Batch the base and top each glass with bubbly as you serve. Bonus: Add a splash of St-Germain for a floral edge.
