½ cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon dried parsley (or fresh, chopped)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon onion powder
4 large eggs
¾ cup whole milk (or half-and-half for creamier texture)
1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie shell (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions:
Preheat and Prep:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place your pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and set aside.
Cook the Sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles.
Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.
Mix the Filling:
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
Stir in cooked sausage and both cheeses until evenly combined.
Assemble and Bake:
Pour the mixture into the prepared pie shell.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
Let cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
Tips & Serving Ideas:
Make it spicy: Add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the mix.
Vegetable boost: Add sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
Make ahead: Prepare the pie the night before and refrigerate. Just bake in the morning!
Serving idea: Serve with a dollop of sour cream, salsa, or a side salad for a complete meal.
Storage:
Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat in the microwave or oven. Freezes beautifully, too!
