Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles Recipe

Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
8 oz (225 g) noodles (spaghetti, linguine, or rice noodles)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup beef broth
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
4 green onions, sliced (plus more for garnish)
1 cup shredded carrots
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Noodles:
Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Add Garlic and Carrots:
Add the minced garlic and shredded carrots to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the carrots are slightly tender.
Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
Thicken the Sauce:
In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef and carrots, then add the cornstarch slurry. Stir well and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
Combine Noodles and Beef:
Add the cooked noodles and sliced green onions to the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Serve:
Remove from heat and transfer to serving plates. Garnish with additional sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Serve hot and enjoy!
