Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Ingredients:
8 oz linguine or spaghetti
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
4 green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds for garnish

Directions:
Cook the Pasta:
Cook the linguine or spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Brown the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
Combine the Beef and Sauce:
Add minced garlic to the beef and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet with the browned beef, stirring to combine.
Thicken the Sauce:
Add beef broth to the mixture and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, cooking for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Add Pasta:
Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet with the beef and sauce, ensuring the pasta is evenly coated.
Garnish and Serve:
Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
