Moist Chocolate Cake with Gooey Chocolate Glaze
A classic chocolate cake with a soft, moist crumb and a luscious chocolate glaze that melts in your mouth. Perfect for chocolate lovers! Ingredients:
For the Chocolate Cake:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
For the Chocolate Glaze:
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt Instructions:
Make the Chocolate Cake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan (or line with parchment paper).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed until smooth and combined.
Gradually add the boiling water to the batter, mixing until smooth. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay—it’ll result in a moist cake.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make the Chocolate Glaze:
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips and butter. Stir until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Let the glaze cool slightly before pouring it over the cooled cake.
Assemble the Cake:
Once the cake is completely cooled, pour the chocolate glaze over the top. Use a spatula to spread it evenly, allowing it to drip down the sides.
Let the glaze set for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Serve:
Enjoy the rich, chocolatey goodness of this moist cake with a cup of coffee or milk! Pro Tip: For an extra indulgent treat, serve this cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
