🍁🥓 Maple Bacon Cheddar Grilled Cheese 🧀🔥

If you love sweet, savory, and melty goodness, the Maple Bacon Cheddar Grilled Cheese is the ultimate comfort sandwich. Crispy sourdough, gooey triple-cheese, and sweet maple-glazed bacon come together to create a sandwich that’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or anytime you need a cozy, indulgent meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 thick slices sourdough bread

  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated

  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese, grated

  • ½ cup Gruyère cheese, grated (optional for nutty flavor)

  • 8 slices bacon

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

  • Optional: Dijon mustard or garlic powder for extra flavor

Directions

1. Cook and Glaze the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon slices until partially crisp. Drizzle maple syrup over the bacon and cook for 1–2 more minutes until sticky and caramelized. Remove and set aside.

2. Prep the Bread

Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough. Optional: lightly sprinkle with garlic powder for extra flavor.

3. Assemble the Sandwich

Place 4 slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface. Layer cheeses evenly, then top with maple-glazed bacon slices. Top with the remaining bread, buttered side up.

4. Heat the Skillet

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. A lower heat ensures the bread crisps without burning before the cheese melts.

5. Grill the Sandwich

Place sandwiches in the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula. Flip carefully and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.

6. Cool Slightly

Remove sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for 1 minute. This helps the cheese set slightly so it doesn’t ooze everywhere.

7. Slice and Serve

Slice each sandwich in half diagonally. Serve immediately with a side of crispy fries, pickles, or a small salad.
