Jelly Nougat Candy Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cups white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups gummy candies (e.g., gumdrops, Turkish delight, or fruit jellies), chopped into small pieces
Instructions:
Prepare the Pan:
Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the paper.
Chop the Jelly Candies:
Dice the jelly candies into small pieces and set them aside. If the candies are sticky, toss them in a little powdered sugar to separate.
Melt the Base:
In a large, heatproof bowl, combine the mini marshmallows, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
Heat over a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring frequently, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
Add the Chocolate and Vanilla:
Stir in the white chocolate chips and mix until melted and incorporated. If needed, return to low heat until smooth.
Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Fold in the Jelly Candies:
Gently fold the chopped jelly candies into the nougat mixture until evenly distributed.
Set the Candy:
Pour the nougat mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Refrigerate for 2–4 hours, or until firm.
Cut into Pieces:
Once set, lift the candy out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into small squares or rectangles using a sharp knife. For clean cuts, wipe the blade between slices.
