Hot Fudge Pie

Hot Fudge Pie

Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or lightly butter it.
Mix the wet ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, and eggs until smooth and well combined.
Add the dry ingredients:
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet mixture. Stir until fully incorporated.
Add vanilla extract and mix well.
If using nuts, fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts at this point.
Bake the pie:
Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish and spread it out evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is set and slightly cracked, but the center is still fudgy. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with moist crumbs, not clean.
Cool slightly and serve:
Let the pie cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. This allows it to set a bit more but still remain warm and gooey.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
