Hot Fudge Chocolate Pudding Cake

Hot Fudge Chocolate Pudding Cake

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for topping)
1 1/4 cups boiling water

Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
Prepare Cake Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Add Cocoa Topping:
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the cake batter.
Pour Boiling Water:
Carefully pour the boiling water over the cocoa topping without stirring. This will create the “fudge” layer underneath the cake as it bakes.
Bake:
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is set and the cake starts to pull away from the edges of the pan. The bottom will still be gooey and fudgy.
Cool and Serve:
Let the cake cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Spoon into bowls and top with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
