Homemade Peanut Butter Frosting Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream (or milk)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions:
Combine Peanut Butter and Butter:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the creamy peanut butter and softened unsalted butter together until smooth and well combined. You can use a hand mixer or a stand mixer with the paddle attachment.
Add Powdered Sugar:
Gradually add the powdered sugar to the bowl, one cup at a time, beating on low speed until incorporated. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add Cream, Vanilla, and Salt:
Add the heavy cream (or milk), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Beat on medium speed until the frosting is smooth and fluffy. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more cream (or milk) until you reach your desired consistency.
Frost Your Dessert:
Use the Peanut Butter Frosting to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies. It’s also delicious as a filling for sandwich cookies or whoopie pies.
Store Leftovers:
Store any leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Before using, let it come to room temperature and give it a quick stir to restore its creamy texture.
