Ingredients:
1 Β½ cups all-purpose flour πΎ
2 tablespoons granulated sugar π¬
1 teaspoon baking powder π₯
Β½ teaspoon salt π§
1 teaspoon vanilla extract π¦
1 large egg π₯
ΒΎ cup milk π₯
Β½ cup water π§
Vegetable oil (for frying) π’οΈ
Powdered sugar (for dusting) π©
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the vanilla extract, egg, milk, and water.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough should be thick but slightly sticky.
Shape the Donuts:
On a floured surface, gently roll out the dough to about Β½ inch thick.
Using a donut cutter or two round cutters (one larger, one smaller), cut out donut shapes. If you donβt have a donut cutter, you can also roll the dough into balls and make a hole in the middle with your finger.
Heat the Oil:
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat. You can test the temperature by dropping a small piece of dough into the oil; it should bubble and float to the surface.
Fry the Donuts:
Carefully drop the donuts into the hot oil, frying a few at a time. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Use tongs or a slotted spoon to remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
Dust with Powdered Sugar:
While the donuts are still warm, dust them generously with powdered sugar.
Serve:
Serve your homemade donuts warm for the best taste! Enjoy them as a sweet breakfast treat or a fun dessert.
These Homemade Donuts are easy to make and are sure to be a hit with your family and friends! π©β¨
