Homemade Butter Mints

🍬 Homemade Butter Mints
Creamy, melt-in-your-mouth mints with a rich buttery finish—perfect for parties, favors, or a sweet little treat!

🧾 Ingredients:
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

1 tbsp whipping cream (or heavy cream)

4 cups powdered sugar, divided (+ extra for dusting)

½ tsp pure peppermint extract

Food coloring (optional—pastel shades work great!)

👩‍🍳 Directions:
1. Cream Butter & Sugar

In a large bowl, beat softened butter until smooth.

Gradually add 2 cups powdered sugar, then whipping cream, mixing until combined.

2. Flavor & Color

Stir in peppermint extract.

Add food coloring (if using) a drop at a time until desired shade.

3. Knead the Dough

Slowly work in the remaining 2 cups powdered sugar until a soft, pliable dough forms.

If sticky, dust hands and surface with extra powdered sugar.

4. Shape the Mints

Roll dough into ½-inch thick ropes, then cut into ½-inch pieces.

OR press into silicone molds for fun shapes!

5. Set & Serve

Let mints dry at room temp for 1–2 hours until slightly firm.

Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

💡 Pro Tips:
For extra shine, brush with edible luster dust.

Swap peppermint for orange extract or vanilla for variety.

Quick set? Chill in the fridge for 30 mins!
