Ingredients:
For the Pasta Bake:
2 cups cooked pasta (penne, rotini, or your choice)
2 cups cooked chicken, diced (grilled or rotisserie chicken works well)
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
For the Topping:
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp melted butter
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or similar size dish.
Prepare the Sauce:
In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the heavy cream and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir to combine.
Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Combine Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, diced chicken, and sauce. Mix until everything is well coated.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Prepare the Topping:
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and the additional Parmesan cheese.
Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the pasta and cheese.
Bake the Dish:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Cool and Serve:
Let the pasta bake cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
