Ingredients
(Makes about 24–30 bites)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

¾ cup milk

1 large egg

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Vegetable oil, for frying

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). -
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. -
Add Wet Ingredients
Stir in milk, egg, and vanilla extract until a smooth batter forms. The batter should be thick but pourable. -
Fry the Bites
Drop small spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown. -
Drain
Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
