Fruity Pebbles Ice Cream

🍨 Fruity Pebbles Ice Cream 🥣
Ingredients
2 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal (or similar fruity crisp cereal)
2 cups whole milk
1½ cups heavy cream
3 large egg yolks
â…“ cup granulated sugar
Instructions
1. Infuse the Milk with Flavor
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, warm the whole milk until just simmering—do not boil.

Remove from heat and stir in the Fruity Pebbles cereal. Let steep for 10 minutes to infuse the milk with fruity flavor.

2. Strain the Mixture
Using a fine mesh sieve, strain the cereal from the milk. Discard the soaked, mushy cereal pieces—they’ve done their job!

Return the flavored milk to the saucepan and let cool slightly.

3. Make the Custard Base
In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale yellow.

Slowly pour the warm milk into the egg mixture while whisking constantly to temper the eggs.

Pour everything back into the saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 170°F).

4. Chill the Base
Strain the custard through a fine mesh sieve again to ensure a silky texture.

Let cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

5. Churn in Ice Cream Machine
Once chilled, pour the custard into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions—usually around 20–25 minutes, or until thick and creamy.

6. Freeze Until Firm
Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent ice crystals.

Freeze for at least 4–6 hours or until firm enough to scoop.

7. Serve & Enjoy
Scoop into bowls and garnish with crushed Fruity Pebbles for a crunchy, colorful finish!
