Fried Cabbage

Ingredients:
1 large head of cabbage, chopped
1 onion, diced
4-6 slices of bacon, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
Red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

Directions:
Cook the Bacon:
In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until it becomes crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
Sauté the Onions:
Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook in the bacon grease until it becomes soft and translucent.
Add Garlic and Butter:
Stir in the minced garlic and butter, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Cook the Cabbage:
Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, tossing it in the onion and garlic mixture. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
Season the Cabbage:
Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika (if using), and red pepper flakes. Add the apple cider vinegar if desired, for a bit of tang.
Combine and Serve:
Once the cabbage is cooked to your liking, stir in the cooked bacon. Serve hot.
