Easy Shrimp and Broccoli Stir Fry

Easy Shrimp and Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients:
For the Stir Fry:
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
1 tbsp olive oil (or vegetable oil)
1 tbsp sesame oil (optional for extra flavor)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch piece of ginger, grated (optional)
1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
2 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish, optional)
For the Sauce:
3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar or white vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions:
Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), honey or brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch (if using), and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside.
Cook the Broccoli:
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat.
Add the broccoli florets and cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp. If using frozen broccoli, cook until heated through.
Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set it aside.
Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp sesame oil (if using) and heat over medium-high heat.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Stir Fry the Garlic and Ginger:
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
Combine and Cook:
Return the cooked broccoli and shrimp to the skillet.
Pour the sauce over the shrimp and broccoli, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
Serve:
Garnish with chopped green onions (optional) and serve immediately over rice, noodles, or on its own.
