🥢 Easy Chinese Egg Rolls 🥡
Crispy, golden, and packed with savory flavor, these Chinese egg rolls are the ultimate homemade takeout treat! Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or part of a meal. 😋
🧾 Ingredients:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup cabbage, finely shredded 🥬
1/2 cup carrots, julienned 🥕
1/2 cup bean sprouts (optional)
2 green onions, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, minced 🧄
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (or 1/2 tsp ground)
1/2 pound ground pork or chicken (optional for meat version)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Salt & pepper to taste
10–12 egg roll wrappers
1 beaten egg (for sealing) 🥚
Oil for frying
🍳 Instructions:
Sauté the Filling:
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, then stir in cabbage, carrots, and green onions. Cook until slightly softened, about 3–4 minutes.
Add Protein (Optional):
If using ground meat, add it now and cook until browned. Drain any excess grease.
Season:
Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Assemble the Egg Rolls:
Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface in a diamond shape.
Add 2–3 tablespoons of filling near the bottom corner.
Fold bottom corner over the filling, then fold in both sides.
Roll tightly and seal the top corner with beaten egg.
Fry:
Heat oil in a deep skillet (about 350°F/175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
