Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
Directions:
Prepare the Breading and Chicken: In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne (if using). In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and milk together. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, dip in the egg wash, then coat again with the flour mixture.
Cook the Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken breasts for about 6-8 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, simmering for 2-3 minutes until the sauce is glossy.
Coat and Serve: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the crispy chicken breasts, ensuring they are evenly coated. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
